The problems in our country and around the world have been weighing heavily on my mind these days. I don't know what, if anything, I (or any one person) can do to make a difference.
That's how I felt until I saw the photo that made its way around the internet this weekend. You know the one--Michelle Obama giving President George W. Bush a big happy hug. And in return, W. "leaned in," to accept the gesture and return the emotion Mrs. Obama was offering. What a beautiful moment.
Looking at that image, with a huge smile on my face, I realized, we can all do something. Something pretty simple, actually. Let's set aside our differences and focus instead on the things we have in common. Pass the peace and give folks a hug when they need one.
Sharing a great meal is another good place to start. Take a peek at our MENU to see what we're cookin' up this week.
Remembering the innocence:
1. Of NYC before 9/11
2. And my two sweet nieces who are all grown up now, but still just as sweet!
Monday's Special is a little New York inspired with Pork Scaloppini and Potato Smashers. Make it a Meal for the real NY deal: homemade Pretzel Rolls! Here's the rest of this week's MENU.
Have a great week. Hope to see you.
Hi friends of BSK,
Just a quick note to let you know that we have new, expanded electrical capacity. Wah-hoo! Hoping we won't outgrow this configuration in the near future! And all of the roofing work is completed too, so we're 100% back in action. And we couldn't be happier.
Take a peek at our menu for the week, and call or come by if you have any questions or special requests. Also, remember, it's never too early to book us for parties, showers, or any other events we can help you with. Many thanks! Hope to see you soon.
Bon Appetit, Julie
P.S. Have you tried our bento boxes? They rock ! We have some for little kids and grown-up versions too.
