Julie Grimes

A Texas native, grew up learning to cook at her grandmother's apron strings. After earning a bachelor's degree in English and teaching for a couple of years, Grimes began her career in food. She worked in restaurants and owned a catering business in Nashville, went to culinary school in NYC, and cooked in the kitchen at famed Union Square Café before moving to Birmingham to work at Southern Living. She spent 16 years developing hundreds of delicious recipes and crafting stories for magazines. Her work has appeared in Southern Living, Cooking Light, Fine Cooking, Women's Health, and many other publications. She lives in Mountain Brook with her husband, son, and their gaggle of pets.
